I bought a lovely foxglove (and paid the bucks) last year and It died in the ground... no foxglove this spring! really wanted to put it along the verges of the forest..but no go. I bought some lupins too and they have done nicely. so my grade is 50%... :-( ... This so gorgeous... congratulations!

Yes, bee heaven here, a blaze of colour.
Oh dear Lori, that is a shame. All these have self seeded.
I grow lupins from seed, they usually last a couple of years and then they are gone so I start again.

Now that these lupins have taken hold I think I'll just buy a packet of seed this year...and one next! perhaps I could do that with the digitalis? I think the plant I bought, (although beautiful) was a pampered specimen.

Yes I agree, if the common foxgloves are happy to spread, so be it, the more the merrier I say, I find plants grown in the south are not happy in my garden, they have to be a bit hardier to live a bit more north?
