Gatekeeper Butterfly

Thanks Sheila ... there really does seem to be a lack of Butterflies this year :o(

I actually saw a brown one today..probably a Red Admiral, but not sure as it fluttered too fast! Gatekeeepers are lovely!

Karen, in previous years when I have taken part in the Butterfly Count there has been such a variety of them. Almost all Whites this year with not many others :o(

We've mainly had white this year ,it's worrying !

I do hope they return in higher numbers next year, Amy.

here in new york i also have noticed a decline in butterflies this yr. have seen a few white ones, 1 monarch and a small brown one, usually i have a lot of white ones and occasionally a monarch in the past years, also have not seen a grasshopper in several years? or a praying mantis? i worry also!

Vjd ... definitely worrying times for the world right now :o(
