Passiflora violacea grown from seed two years ago, this is the first to flower this colour. All the others have been like caerulea.

Gowing from seed was easy Stan, it was waiting for the flowers and finding most were basic caerulea colours. I have a few giant granadilla, Passiflora quadrangularis, on the go at the moment grown from a few seeds from a fruit bought from the supermarket. (My grandaughter ate the rest). I don't think for a minute they'll surive winter here but I'm going to give it a go.

There is a new vid,Thorny on YouTube by "GreenGardenGuy" of growing that Giant Passion flower in Hawaii. Just one makes a near pitcher of refreshing drink.
They make HUGE fruits. All from a Passion Flower.
I might put that on my list of exotic edibles to try. Room,is my limiter.

I've just watched that video and I don't remember my fruit being that big. That was more of a melon than passion fruit. Enormous. If mine was misnamed I wonder what am I going to get? The fruit was quite large, bigger than the normal passion fruit, purple/nearly black. I might go to the supermarket to see if I can find one again.
