Frost!!! It Begins

Oh, that's awful, where has Autumn gone.

Well, can't say I'm surprised that you got it first....but hopefully it's a short sharp shock. I put my greenhouse heater on full before we left and it got down to 5.6C, so it must have been cold here too.

It's a bit earlier than normal Khal, we usually get our first end of Oct and the last the end of May.

Siris, as it was an air frost, no plant damage. The trees are still in green leaf, so I hope we get some autumn.
You will be relieved your heater was on Karen.
My Mum and daughter who live a mile away, in different directions didn't get it, it's as we are in a valley with water around.
I'm always harping on about our cold weather I know.

We had one like this a week ago, but it's been pretty mild since though chilly in the evening - so I've succumbed to putting the heating on for a couple of hours!

Did you Sheila, earlier than us then. Our stove has been lit a few evenings now.

Oh dear, poor you. I'm hoping we won't get one for at least a month yet although we occasionally do in October.Last year, I think we only 3 or 4 winter.

Lucky you Paul, I must say we had a mild winter last year.

It has been cold here in the mornings Dawn, but no frost yet. I have been cutting back dead leaves today........not many, but once the frost comes that will all change. Plus no more tomatoes.

My tomatoes are hanging on, just, still get a few and cucumbers. The thoughts of leaf clearing up isn't a good one.

Chilly mornings & evenings but no frosts yet in Suffolk & I don't want one yet either as my dahlias & begonias are still looking glorious in full bloom.

Oh NO Dawn , I'm not ready for that we haven't had any frost yet .. I must start collecting pot plants to put in the greenhouse ...

No more frost thankfully. I want to see the trees in their autumn colours before the frosts come strong and drop the leaves.
