Dahlia - Akita

Lovely flower. I used to grow it and somewhere in time I lost it.

First time I'm growing this one, but I'll be looking for more like it. I only wish it didn't bloom so late in the season.

When did you planted it Bathgate. I plant my dahlias in April and they start to bloom well in August and they are best in September. They still look OK now ...but not at their prime anymore.

I planted in early May. They seemed to stop growing during those hot dog days of July & August.
