Stera I do, we have a few here, because they are tough plants, but this has to be the best in my humble opinion....

We had two different ones until recently but first one died very gradually and then the other - a slow decline over about four years. Never could discover why so am reluctant to replace them. Otherwise this one would be very tempting.

Oh dear Stera, would be very upset if we lost this one.....our neighbours Skimmia are over 6 ft wide and the same in width, not this variety though!!
Dawn I have a love of variegated plants....

Something to do with photosynthesis. ?

Yes, only the green parts can photosynthesize apparently. Quite obvious when you think about it, but I had to be told about it. I love this photo, its a beautiful evergreen. I'm keeping my eye out for a good one, but so far they have all been teeny. I was chuffed to see I have a few red berries on my little Sk. Jap. 'Rubella' this year. They are quite 'loud', but at this time of year thats very welcome!

K I have never seen a large plant for sale, they are very slow growing, not at all like the other varieties......

Karen, surely Rubella is a male variety - perhaps yours was mislabelled? Though there is an ad for a Rubella pictured with berries on this very page. But if you click on it the text confirms its a male variety. Careless advertising?

I have S Reevesiana, also advertised on this page but no berries ?
