Klahanie -When I was living in Africa, we used limes to purify out drinking and always had a supply on hand.
Amy- Yes lime leaves are used as a flavoring, but are too tough to eat -like a Bay Leaf.

My neighbour has just purchased one of these! It's just coming into flower too... AND I'm it's minder, while she's away in your neck of the woods Paul - for 3 months! In fact I'm minding the conservatory which is full of Orchids, cacti, and Rosemary and lavender cuttings. It's a big responsibility...! But I'm happy to help her ;o)

That looks familiar. lol! :>)) It looks good!
Limes are widely grown here as a commercial crop. All citrus is very commonly grown in orchards here.

Wow, you get to enjoy her lime blossoms. I love how they freshen the air, Tracey.
Del: Must be quite a sight to see a whole orchard of limes in blossom. I bet you can grow a pencil in San Diego if you planted it. lol

Bathgate:
Yes, they're so very fragrant when the citrus trees are in flower, also.
Right now oranges are in season.
LOL! Pencils don't grow; however, the pencil bush (Euphorbia tirucalli) is extremely common in the landscape here. :>))
