Dear friends,

A Delonix Regia is on top of my list!
Actually I choosed a land with some inclination to allow the tree to grow and show!
As soon as the architect establish built area and paths to the car, I'll start the plans for the garden, veggies etc.

The soil is rich and the climate is mild, with some low temperatures during winter.

Mango tree is a good idea, but I'm not sure it will be happy with low temperatures.

Accepting all sugestions you would like to share.

Happy New year!

Aleyna:

Great choice, a beautiful Delonix regia would be terrific!

If you can grow D. regia you can easily grow mango trees. They're both tropical trees which have very similar growing conditions. Mango trees are more common than D. regia trees here in San Diego. Although, in recent years D. regia has become more popular and common in nurseries. (maybe one day they will be as common and popular as Jacaranda trees which are grown here by the many millions).

Delonix

I'll look around to see if there is any mango trees in the gardens.
We have a friend who has a huge area and plant different veggies and fruit trees he might know.
I was planning 2 apple trees, a cherry, navel orange, tangerine and lemon.

Isn't it too warm for cherry and apple trees there? It's too warm here in San Diego for cherry trees. Only low-chill varieties of apple do well here (I don't see many trees, though) Cherries don't get enough chilling in winter to grow well.

Instead of a white Christmas I might a white b'day ... :)

Today, 10am, the temperature there is 17ºC and here is 24ºC

São Francisco de Paula is the coldest area in our state.

Wow! That's amazing! I guess it's because of the elevation it gets colder. It snows at that elevation here in San Diego County's Foothills, sometimes, also. Sometimes it snows down as low as 610 m (2,000 ft). Most of the time it snows above 5,000 ft (1,524 m), though...usually 3 to 5 times during winter. The snow melts away very quickly even on the top of Mt. Laguna at 6,000 ft (1,829 m).

Lemon tree? They are one of the most useful fruit tree's..some bear all year. We welcome every lemon my Meyers puts out-lol. For fish, salads,on cucumbers...lemon juice on slices of apples and salt- delicious!

I agree 100% Stan, thats the reason why one of my first choices is a lemon tree.
I believe it also needs some sun to help the fruits ripening. Friends have their tree in an area that receives sun only during the morning for about 2 hours, from 10 to 12 am, and the fruits are taking a long time to ripen.

Common apples for your recipe?
