Very unusual.

Ditto the above comments. Is the colour for real?

No, it's been dyed. This is how I brought it home. The next blooming cycle will be pure white. Unless I dye it myself which I might do on special occasions. How about red, white & blue for the 4th of July?

With some Stars and Stripes?

I do love Orchids, but I have to admit to disliking the dyed ones. Sorry.

It looks good at the moment Paul... But I'm like Waddy I don't really like dyed ones.

I love the idea of dying them for festive occasions. I love the red & white stripes Siris, Stars? How about powder pink or blue for a baby shower? Sparkly green for St. Pat's? Black & Orange for Halloween?
Being in the floral business, Tracey, do you ever need to dye flowers. I'm sure there's an art to it. That can only be good for business. I've seen a florist touch up a gardenia with a little spray glue and dusting of baby powder.

You can't improve on Mother Nature really most of the time.

Yes I've had to use the Oasis Floral spray paints at various times, and just like you've mentioned, there is an art to it too! It's very much like the art of spraying cars!!! The smell is lethal and masks should be worn... But these procedures aren't always carried out...! Also a can of paint doesn't go very far... especially when the flowers start to warm up and open wider to reveal their original colour...! :D

I've seen some like this in our supermarket They look nice but I can't really see the point as there are so many natural beautiful colours out there already ...

I think they are quite beautiful IF you did not know it was a dyed orchid. The photo makes it look wonderful...

Amy, in the supermarket, it's all about the bottom line. Certain colors sell better than others, so that's the color they paint them.
