Mahonia taken as a cutting a lot of years ago. It gets pruned every year to stop it getting too big and overpowering everything underneath it.

My Mahonia have all flowered really well this year. When is the best time to do a little pruning Thorneyside?

I do it after the berries start to drop off but whether that's the right time I don't know. They sprout well then with the spring coming and are right for next winter.

Thanks Thorneyside. They give us a lot of privacy from our neighbours, but they have grown a bit too tall now, so will have a bit of a cut back when the berries start to drop...! Thanks for the info... ;o)
