Gardenia

I Love Gardenia! It reminds me of Hawaii, where I'm originally from.

My Vietnamese Gardenia (Gardenia vietnamensis) has buds on it right now. I think it's loving all the rain we've been receiving in the last couple of weeks. It's growing unbelievably fast for winter time, also.

It sounds really nice! How about that fragrance?

oh Sheila still waiting? I hope they open soon. They could be a bit moody. I call them Prima Donnas!! Everything must be just so or they can sulk.

They are fab plants... I absolutely love the heady fragrance...!!! But I too, have also found them to be moody little devils...! Gggrrr!

Yes they can be frustrating.

They need good drainage, with good acidic soil and perfect weather. lol!

We have the perfect weather here in San Diego, the water here is hard so it can cause them problems.

In Florida, they grow everywhere.

I'd love to see those Gardenia bushes too . . . just looked at Delonix's photos, but haven't found them yet!

I'll post some new photos in spring when the Mystery Gardenias start to flower. They'll probably bloom very well this year because of all the rain.
