My Philodendron 'Brazil' is growing so fast under the stade-structure! It will need to be cut back again. Last year I cut it way back because it was trailing on the ground and up the wall of the house. It sticks to the wall like Ivy. Photo taken Feb. 14, 2017.

Thanks! :>))
It grows so fast. I may put a trellis on the side of the shade structure so it can grow into to it.

Hi Delonix .. trellis seems a very good idea.

Yes, I'm going to try it soon. I have to take this plant out of the pot it's in and put it into the ground and have the stems grow into the trellis.

It will, that's why I've kept it in the pot. lol!

I've heard it makes a very heavy ground cover.

I've never seen it as a ground cover. I would guess it makes a nice one, though (in a semi-shaded spot).

I don't know how trustworthy my memory is on this but I seem to remember a GoY member from Darwin, Aus. who had posted some pics of it as a ground cover. As well as the larger split leaf type, too. I must take a look and see if I can find her pics. It's been a while since I've seen her post anything, so I'm not sure if she's still participating.

Lori:
Monstera deliciosa (Split-leaf-Philodendron) is very widely used a ground cover. I have a huge one in my back yard, it's on the ground and crawling up the fence.
