Still fine despite the one freezing night and the never ending rains.

Its in a pot. Soon it will start showing all new growth and that Andy, gives it a much redder, look overall.
This is the winter look.
I could plant in ground- but I like where its at better. The Dilemma!

Yes, I like the look. There's several of this variety in my area here in San Diego. There's a big one around the corner from me in someone's back yard. It's so tall I can see it from the street.

Ruby might be fastest grower of them all. I saw one in Los Angeles on Google planted in a front yard. I thought- hey thats big. Then,I used Google maps to see it a few years before. IT WAS HUGE. Apparently the newest photo was after it had been pruned.
Finally a warming trend here. We might get to 70F later in the week..stay in the mid 60's.
March of 2015 we averaged 71f. I miss those good old drought temps..

I really like Ruby Rubber tree, also! Its leaves are so beautiful! It does grow huge, though. Not good for a small garden.
It warmed up here, also. Yesterday it was 61 degrees I was so cold all day! I hate it! LOL !
Today it's heading up to mid-70's. It's 71 degrees at 11:51 a.m., already. Tomorrow low-to-mid-80's! Yay! I'm tired of the cooler weather. Even though, the average for San Diego this February was still 2 degrees above average. Last February it was 10 degrees above average, with no rain. So glad we received the rain!

That variegated had a huge canopy-originally- on a not so huge trunk.
They are one of the few variegated plants that can do at least as well as the species in growth speed and size.

Most Ficus elastica varieties grow very fast here (in the ground). If they get trimmed back a little each year they grow even faster, I noticed.
