Maybe it just chose that leaf to rest on and is not up to anything naughty. None of the surrounding leaves appear to be munched. An interesting photo.

fushia was fine gardengnome so guess its a friendly insect, mind you my fushia is now lying on the ground, not sure if lighting hit it or the weight of the rain has knocked it off the wall
