I like the open shape. Does it start like the other Iris, and eventually take this shape? Foliage looks ridged?

Gig, I am not sure if this species will grow in the pond. The pot contained enough that I have split a rhizome off to put on the pond shelf as a trial. I did this with I .Holden Clough successfully.
Wells, this photo was taken from above. The flower starts as a pointed bud as I. germanica and develops to a more open shape, like the Dutch bulb Iris.
