Yes, it's come back very well since I transplanted (a few months ago) it into a larger pot. It needs to be transplanted into a larger pot, again! The flowers in the background are on a Plumeria. :>))

Yes a taller larger plastic pot it would look lovely in I say plastic as plastic pots hold the moisture in the soil twice as long as terracotta clay pots as this suffers in the drought so I thought plastic is better for it I can see its already in a plastic pot. I ll show you one of my trees in a plastic large pot.

Clay allows air and moisture to penetrate the sides of the pot. This moisture and air is utilized by the fine roots located at the edge of the soil ball. Clay pots also act like a wick to remove excess moisture from the potting soil.

Yes, it's in a plastic pot. I do know about terra cotta pots. I always plant my plumerias in them, because they breathe and dry out faster.

It get very expensive buying big pots. This plant needs a 20 gallon pot. It's in a 10 gallon size pot right now.

Yes they can be expensive here as well but I shop around I wait untill end of August they sell them off cheaper then .

You ll have to invest in a bigger pot do you have car boot sales over there as you might pick up a cheap pot from there.

Car boots is on-line so I guess I can see if I can get a good price on a huge pot. I do have several 15 gallon containers...they're just he common black pot, though. It's not decorative.

If your pots are plain black you could decorate them your self like they do here with canal art link above paint then lacquer on top

Nursery pots are best for marginals. Thats a great Mammy and a pot that doesnt drain well,or wont allow roots to warm ( like ceramic) might look better..but the plant's not better off.

My crotons do well in plastic or terracotta pots. I think plastic pots would hold a lot more water. Crotons love a lot of water. The drought did a number on this one last summer.

This plant is in my back yard and it gets extremely hot sun there (like the very hot, humid weather we're having now). It dries out so fast, it's unbelievable.

Hi D1 and 3p! I hope you don't mind me dropping in on your conversation. I got some 15 gallon, black plastic, pots for nothing at a seasonal garden centre at a walmart which was closing up. (The garden centre, not the walmart) I just asked and they said sure, take as many as you like! they look like pails without handles but if you want to jazz them up a bit you can hot glue sisal or other rope wound around the outside in a semi-nautical theme! :-)) I love crotons, extreme colours and yours looks like it's loving the extra moisture. you can also double pot, with the outside pot insulating the inner from the heat. I stopped making hanging pots because I had to water them so often... on a hot summer's day, at least three times!

Here, in the UK, we can only grow them indoors so they never get to reach the enormous size yours is!

Yes, this croton is loving the extra water. It's not drought tolerant at all here. In the tropics I think crotons tolerate dry conditions; however, not drought.

I'm sure in a large container it would grow large for you. Crotons have a pretty big root system. This plant is pretty small. Its potential height is 8' (2.5 m) or taller. This one is only half that height.

in a large container! It might do well on the balcony for 6 months a year but it could never be overwintered inside our flat!

This is a very tropical shrub which is not easy to grow outside of the tropics or subtropics. It must be very hot and humid for most of the year for it survive outdoors.
