This is at Carlsbad Village in northern San Diego County, CA. There's many Kentia palms at this little shopping center. Photo taken July 6, 2017.

Yes, it's a very ornamental palm. It also does very well close to the beach.

I do have several by the bay or beach growing in groves. Kentia palms are native to Lord Howe Island, which is a little island which is part of Australia.

So are they your Palms Andy which has been growing in groves by the bay ?
So Australia owns Lord Howe Island do they need passports to travel there if they come in from Australia I shall have to take a look on Google earth I ll be able to see the Kentia Palms then. ☺

No, not my palms. There's so many that grow by homes. I don't live by the beach nor San Diego Bay. I'm further inland, 15 minutes drive from downtown San Diego.
As far as I know Lord Howe Island is part of Australia.

Yes I understand its the closest to you I recall you said you lived inland.

Lori,
I've seen this photo before. It's a real beauty. I know Howea fosterana grows to 100' there. Here they top out at about 55 to 60' in about 100 years.
Here's some really tall ones in Mission Hill which is uptown San Diego. It's a really old neighborhood. You can see the old house has a chimney. Houses haven't been made with chimneys in San Diego for ages. lol!
