My Thai Dwarf papaya has several fruit on it. The fruit tends to develop best in fall and ripen in winter. Photo taken Oct. 10, 2017.

I actually like the Red Caribbeans better. They are both good, though. The fruit on the Thai Dwarf gets very large, about the same size as Maradol, which are huge. The flavor of the Thai Dwarf is less intense in sweetness, though.

They sound very tasty Andy I was reading imports of Maradol Papayas from Mexico have caused 4 different types of Salmonella infections .

Yes, all fruit (from markets) should be washed very well before eating. This happened (Salmonella) 4 years ago with mangoes. We were so lucky because most of the mangoes grown here in San Diego and California went to our local markets instead of across the U.S. It was great! :>))

Yes I wash all my veg and fruit prior to eating even if it says they have been pre washed . Bet you were in your glory when they all went to your local markets.

Yes, it's a very good idea to wash all produce even if it says pre-washed. I do the same.
