Fatsia japonica 'Spider's Web' this week in our -5 temperatures. Here in the South I think a few not so bad winters have made us soft. Not so this week! Anything and everything vaguely thermal came into play. On sight I must have looked like I'd gone up two sizes but no, "layers" as an old friend once told me, and I had a few, from thermals to fleeces to coats.

It was cold last week wasn't it. It's milder today :)

It's still very cold here Hywel, very white frosty morning again but forecast for rain later and turning milder. I have to check the greenhouses then for what's still alive and what's not. I have bubble insulation but no heat so we'll see.

I didn't get around to putting bubble insulation in my Perspex shelters, as I intended, but when I checked them everything seemed all right ... but they are quite sheltered.
I hope your plants won't have suffered too much. The fuchsias you sent me are sleeping nicely in a shed :)

We haven't had a bad week this week, but the weatherpeople say it's going to turn colder this next week. Back with the layers...as you said.

Your fatsia looks stunning frosted Thorney, I know we don't like the sub zero temps, but on the plus side, the garden can look wonderful stylised with frost....great for photographers..

That Fatsia is so pretty with the frosting. I put my Ginger Plant outside under the carport thinking we had gone 'Mediterranean' It has a flower spike developing, but got the droop now.
