The garden is so wet right now that I was surprised to see this Hellebore flower had bothered to open! These have been in the ground since 2011 and show no sign of stopping.

Nice and early. No sign of mine yet.

Dotty, it's fair to say I am getting fed up with the heavy rain now. Squelched my way across the grass earlier ... :o(
Hywel, mine will have gone when yours are out!

It’s so lovely to see them, Shirley. I was surprised too, to see my H. Anna’s Red in flower (still in its pot!).

I'll have to go down the garden tomorrow and have a look

Sheila, my OH thinks all Hellebores should be in pots in order to see the down-turned flowers better!

I agree with your OH :)

Shirley - he has a point. Because mine are still in pots, I've brought a couple in for the kitchen windowsill, which is at eye-level, and I'm enjoying the sight :)

That's a good idea Sheila ... I recall a gardening programme showing Hellebores being grown in hanging baskets ... purely to admire the blooms without crouching down!
Not sure that would work here ... it would only take a hefty coastal breeze to blow the baskets away ... :o(
Quite a storm last night/early morning which meant our bird table and bee box were both on their sides today ... undamaged thank goodness.
