Thanks! It's a really good bloomer, like all Calliandra species. Calliandra surinamensis and haematocephala are all blooming now, also.

Nice fine textured plant. I had one that I tried to Bonsai..it would never grow the way I wanted..nodes did not shorten. It went on like that for years. I lost it one summer.

Calliandras are very common here, but in a rose or pink collor.

Here too. I bet you have lots of Calliandra surinamensis there. There's a lot here, also. A house down the street has a very large one in flower now. C. surinamensis is native to Northern South America.
