Yeah,but I didn't just prune the top- I hacked off 70% of the trunk height- lol,so that's more then the usual way of storing them in cold climates. Usually they remove the leaves and roots and haul the heavy trunk to the cellar.
My way I just invented says- keep it small enough to carry under one arm...almost!

It looks pretty interesting. I've done this to other bananas they usually come back even nicer. I have one I'm probably going to cut back in spring.

So it has come back I remember you hacking it back great to see its returned Stan.

Is your mango next to the banana spiking or flowering, now?

Its got little new leaves. Not sure if they will go on to be larger,or just a forerunner of a flush being that started in December.
I know its looks perky. NOW,finally,it has a real root system. I wont have to water it daily or about that for the first three years.
I still get a kick looking up at it. I was wondering if that day would ever get here.

I'm sure it's going to flower really well in the warm weather there. Most likely, you'll have a really good mango harvest this year.

Today I see those buds all over the terminals. I guess just let it do what it wants. IF I had a few tree's- I might thin out.
But just being a backyard gardener. I think the tree is large enough.

Mangoes love warm-to-hot condition very dry conditions when flowering. After it sets fruit it can take a lot of water...especially in hot weather.

The weather was the number one topic on the news tonight. It was mostly about the lack of rain and the hot weather we've been having. It's looking good for extreme drought this year. Maybe we'll get a pineapple express in April, hopefully!
