I've been looking closely at mine. Think it might be dead. No idea why, it just looks dead. I have a second one in the back garden which is going to flower in a couple of weeks. Pity about the bigger one though. We'll see if it revives in a few weeks.

Stellatas are my favourites.

The hot weather has taken all our flowers.....

Shame Karen. Oh no Dotty, if it ain't frost or rain it's something else.

I hope yours is still alive, Karen. Perhaps it's going to go straight to leaves and you'll have to wait for next year's blooms? That would be better than losing it altogether?
I envy you this beauty, Da. I want a liriodendron. There was one huge tree in the town where we lived in zone 5. How it survived our cold winters to grow into a 50 foot tree was always a source of comment.

Magnolia stellata are lovely trees & have such delicate looking petals. The close up you took of the flower is great, I've never been that close to one of these trees.

There are a few in this town & there is one in particular I've been taking photos of every year for a good many years.
