Thanks. I can see both mama & daddy feverishly bringing bits & things to the babes. I keep my distance now except for a water change.

It sure is. I just read that they could raise 3 broods in a single season so I think they're here for the long haul. I wonder if they return to the same nest the following season. They are little engineers.

He's obviously a robin who speaks his mind. The Blackbirds here are fighting each other protecting their families.

Lol Paul yes they can be very protective.

Linda I think your blackbird is also a 'Thrush'. It looks very similar to the American Robin, except for coloration of course.

I'm amazed by the sound construction of the nest. It's a perfectly sized symmetrical bowl woven from mere grass, yet strong enough to support a whole family of robins & mama, against rain, wind, etc. She may use it again for a 2nd brood later on. What's holding the nest together and why don't the eggs slip through? It's only grass! I would be hard pressed to create something like that with two hands.

They are Thrup. I didn't know papa took part

Nests are amazing structures aren't they. Considering the birds don't take on a building apprentices course to build their nests....and it's all just a natural thing instilled in them....yes very amazing Paul. Glad to hear that they are doing well.

LOL very true. That's why I call them 'little engineers'. We'll never know their secret. A bird built this!
