Blood red acer

It's a beautiful tree. I've got an Acer palmatum type. It's probably not the same as yours, but for the first 2 years it had dark red foliage which changed to dark green quite quickly until it went reddish again in Autumn. This year it's colour has changed, some leaves have kept brighter reddish tints all season so far, and some branches changed to green. It seems to be improving as it gets older, and younger branches are not so good. I don't know whether this is normal for Acers, but wait and see as it gets older. Feeding will be good but check what it needs first.

The same thing happened to my Spirea, it was a wonderful orange fall color when I got it but since only turned a dull reddish orange, pretty in itself but not as I pictured it.
