Thanks Thrupennybit and Wildrose. We had a Comma butterfly in the greenhouse and a small blue on the runner bean flowers, but there are mostly whites. This is a small white. I've managed to get a butterfly feeder that is of a wooden frame with two small tubs at the bottom...thimble sized and a sponge down the middle. One spoonful of sugar to five spoonfuls of hot water....let it cool and soak the sponge also fill the small containers with it but you could use a sponge in a shallow dish if you placed it somewhere the ants can't get at it. Just a thought folks.

That's great you had a few other types.
I shall have to try the butterfly feeder out thanks for enlightening us what to put out for them. 50 percent white vinegar 50 percent water kills ants they hate vinegar.

Oh this is a beautiful photo, you must have very steady hands to be able to take such a wonderful shot, my hands shake terribly and I end up taking lot's of shots just to get a good one by which time the butterfly would be well gone😰

Thanks Sukipop, Butterflies are not easy to take photos of because they are very skittish when you get near to them. I get so far, use the flower mode, then use a zoom on the camera. I don't always get the photos right and sometimes miss a good photo, so you are not alone.
