This is the first year my banana's have TWO stalks with bunches. Probably not ripe until May or later.
ALSO..check this vid of a Mango tree here in the bay area and what poster thinks of growing more.

For sure,I've never put anything toxic on them or on the soil below any of them.
What a strange summer..so cool, but tropical plants making some headway. They've grown. It makes me wonder if all the talk of San Francisco cant grow Los Angeles like tropicals is a myth.

That's good you don't any toxins on or in the soil you know it's safe to eat.
Watching that video you put on I would say it's a myth as plants take most of their moisture through their leaves being cool it will help for the moisture.

It looks good! I haven't had any bananas in two years because of this horrible drought. The ground has just been way too hard, even though last night we had very heavy rain with big thunderstorms. I was very happy to see heavy rain here!

Just same-o here. Although October has been warmer then August or September. Nice weather, because warmer not hot.
We never had a 90f the whole season.
I've gotten a nice harvest of those little yellow Guava's. Two stalks of banana's are ripening. A few Mango's on the tree that are larger then the first bloom set. But,I was disappointment at the Mango returns this year. Only a few and those were much smaller then last year.
Maybe next year.
They say El Nino winter is coming up. I just take that as milder winter nights more then a big chance for heavy rains.
The ways it usually been is just milder.

Just shows how well those mango s grow up north. Far better growing your own knowing they will be tasty and no insecticide.
