New April 2019 ,Patio tree Iv'e planted in the garden I suspect I'll have to prune it to keep it smaller than a normal size ..

If it is on a dwarfing root stock then no more pruning other than formative to begin with & then maintenance pruning in future years.
It has a lovely crop of flowers for now but I think you are advised not to let them set fruit in their first year so that the root system can get established to allow it to fruit in future years.

Thanks all for your input , the label tells me to prune it 4 times a year but the nursery told me that was a little excessive I'll play it by ear and keep it to the size and shape i think it should be ..David please can't I keep a few I'm longing to pick an apple off my new little tree .. PLease .. ☺ ...

Lots of blossom there let's hope it remains a patio size not sure if they are bred to keep small.
