That's too hot to be wearing a fur coat...
Its nice to see your cat - I don't remember you showing it to us before. I remember you telling us how nervous (s)he was when (s)he first arrived - seems to have got over that!

Yes, he's doing fine, thanks just trying to cool off. The heat wave here is incredible.

That's horrible heat! Yuck! It's really hot and humid here now. The heat will be around here for many months to come. Our hottest weather is in September, October and sometimes even into November.

Wow, I don't know if I can take it for that long Andy. All I can say is - lots of lemonade & iced tea. Our heatwave was just over a week, but that's enough for me. We call it the dog days of summer, July & August.

When I was really hot I went for a walk about 6 in the morning. Lovely to see pussycat looking so good Paul.

Bathgate:

Yes, it can be somewhat trying on the body. Two years ago on Thanksgiving Day it was almost 100ºF. Many of the ac units and fans get sent to the west coast in fall in the US. (it's very dry heat in fall, though) It's because it can get super hot that time of year here.

Stay cool Andy, and hydrated. I've taken many cold showers under my garden hose in the middle of the night. Shhh don't tell anyone.

Thanks Linda - Costello is very comfortable and gives lots of kitty kisses. I hope you aren't baking hot like we are.

Yes Paul it was hot here and for two days it was exhausting and we just stayed inside for most of the time. We made sure all the pots were watered, and put the bonsai trees into containers with water in. The Temperature here must have reached well into the nineties although it's pouring with rain at the moment.... Glad to hear Costello is getting through it all o.k. We still get an orange cat visit us daily and she goes mad when she sees us. She purrs, her tail is straight up in the air, and she likes to nuzzle us with the top of her head under our chins. Typical cat behaviour.

They sure know how to tug at your heart strings. She already adopted you.

I'm trying to stay cool! Sometimes it's not so easy. Ugh!
Tonight it's feeling a lot more comfortable. Yay!

Beautiful he looks just like my Guy who died 4 years ago this month.

Thanks Denise. I'm so sorry to hear about Guy's passing. It's like losing a family member. I'm still baffled about my previous cat's sudden passing. He went into respiratory distress and was gone before I could do anything. I think he ate something toxic out in the garden, but I can't figure out what.

Costello was on death row when I adopted him from the animal shelter. That certainly helped - one life lost, another one saved. See what I mean?

Yes I do Bathgate, our cats are always rescue cats and as each one has lived to be at least 15 years we feel we gave them a good life in a loving family.
