Home Grown Pineapple attempt. (Ananas)

One year indoors from a top...planted out in spring 2018. Now it has fruit.
The plant was shiny green all the other years..but no doubt its a strain to make fruit here so far from the tropics. I think,IF we have a mild winter..it will ripen next year. If we have a cold one? My last try. Takes too long.

Fingers crossed for a mild winter then. Its interesting to see a half grown one.

Thanks all...but I'm a realist of the fruit ripening. I hope it proves my doubts wrong.

Pineapples are pretty heavy feeders. I've grown several outside here. They usually ripen in late summer.

The Pineapple is still small. The plant though is healthy and green. Looks to be up to living another year.
