Camellia in bud

Lovely site to see Amy all mine are still tightly in bud except one just appearing to open.

Nice I wish I can grow Camilla. I'm outside its range.

Always a joy to see the first buds, our neighbour has been enjoying our flowers for about a fortnight now, it’s warmer her side, more protected...... still I can wait!

our buds are small like green seedless grapes. Wont flower until March at the earliest for me.

This one has opened right up today , I don't know its name ,it was here when we arrived .. in fact there are 2 large shrubs the same ..

Such a beautiful shrub Amy, and that's a lovely colour for now. My one which is planted in a tub has lots of buds but they're small as yet, it will be a few weeks till the bright red flowers open. Saying that in Mum's garden a very old camellia that Jim bought her when he was a boy is laden with opening pink buds..:))

Janey the fact that your Jim brought the Camellia for your mum means more to you than anything ,I love it when we have something growing from the family ,it's the memories that go with it isnt it ... your tub one will catch up soon :o)

Lovely,Amy,it looks a similar colour to mine,when it decides to bloom ! Although,the buds are further on than this time last year..all the rain has done some good,after all !
