Iris reticulata 'Caroline'

I love the clear blues of this one.

Beautiful, vivid blue!

Last Friday I was taking photos of the gardens of the church I go to. I forgot to look specifically for the Iris that flowered there last year. It can't have been in flower as it stood out a lot last year & I wouldn't have been able to miss it if it had been open.

Unfortunately the ground is so wet, there are almost puddles in the grass where it meets the soil of the flower border, so I couldn't stay more than a few seconds at any one spot without the fear of a "quicksand" pit opening up & swallowing me! :D :D :D

What a real pity, Eileen. At least you can see the humorous side to this never ending wet weather ;-)
