HI KATE AND STERRA. I SEARCHED FOR FOOD FOR THE LADYBIRD AND THE ONLY BLACKFLY I FOUND WERE ON THE ACER. WE SAT IN THE GARDEN YESTERDAY AS IT WAS SUCH A LOVELY DAY.

HI KATE AT LEAST THE LITTLE BIRDS WILL HOPEFULLY EAT THE BLACKFLY AND ANY EARLY WASPS. SEEN QUITE A FEW BEES AND A BUTTERFLY.

I guess the ladybird is better at finding aphids etc than we are - a bit of aerial reconnaissance can come in handy!
