Behind the log shed..

Behind the log shed, at the bottom of the bund, there is a space between my stepped area and the neighbour to the right. It’s doing pretty well, planted up with choisya x 2, think I’ll have to post them as not in the pic, fern, acer, euonymus, herbs, junipers etc..I’ll have to pop some more on with some of the other plants that seem to be doing ok.

Thanks Thrup, it’s such a difficult area to plant. It’s quite vertical. Under the bird feeder a lot of plants were trampled on by the big, plodding wood pigeons. The acer is an Asda buy from last year. Lucky buy while shopping..

Thanks Paul, hopefully it’ll grow quite tall.

Thank you Karen, it has been difficult for years, trying to get it to thrive,,,getting there! I’ve a choisya right in the corner, the other side of the water butt, seems to be settling well. The other one is higher up and it’s ok, just taking time as expected.

I have had a lot of trouble here trying to grow a golden choisya. I have lost at least one. But last year I planted a new one which seems to be doing well...so there's hope. My green Choisya on the other hand, has grown really well. I think it's the cold wind that gets the golden foliage.

Yes wood pigeons can and do a lot of damage to plants . You had a bargain then with the Acer .

I have same problem with fat wood pigeons. I put small conical plant supports under the feeder to stop them tramping on the plants. :)

Think they have big plodding feet and gosh can they poop! Horrible.
Thanks Dawn, it was under a tenner I think..
Karen, that sounds a good idea actually, especially when you’re giving plants time to establish and grow to a good size. ;-)

A good price Kate as garden centres would charge a lot more.
