I was given one for my birthday last year & it has several buds on it & the most advanced should open by the end of the month.

Hi Balcony thanks for the comment, as for the name all I got from my not so trusty plant id app was, Chinese peony or common garden peony. Probably was a name on it when I bought it but all I used to do was get a plant and bung it in the ground, not really paying all that much attention to the names, :) :)

Oh well, it's not particularly important just that I like to put names to my plants - even though I might not remember them for long!

I'll post a few pictures of mine when it comes into flower. Right now the buds are tightly closed. Mine's called 'Dr Fleming', it's also a Chinese peony or common garden peony, Paeony lactiflora.
