It grows approx 3ft tall it's best to eat the leaves raw in salads .. I would say its both Lori .. the first time I saw it was in a large estate garden they had it growing all round the veg garden almost like a hedge it looked amazing , I should collect seed this year if its possible ..

is it a barrier crop if it's planted hedgelike? another good characteristic! wonder what it was meant to repel?

I don't think so Lori it would seem it was planted round the veg .garden to simply look pretty , I believe it would be too tasty to repel any critters , I've been investigating its uses you can steam it for a couple of minutes and then eat it with butter as well as raw with a salad ,, the seed can be prepared as rice or Quinoa or ground into a flour which is then used mixed with other flours ... it also says a food sauce for the future ...

Attractive leaves, Amy. Sounds like it’s a nice addition to a summer lunch.
