Lovely plant but this is a fly not a bee. Easy to think it was.

Yes, you would think so. I have this Geum and it only flowered for a handful of weeks, it seemed to start flowering then quickly finish!

This is of the Bot or Warble fly family. The Ox warble fly is similar.
