HE LOOKS A LOVELY CAT. IS THERE SOME SIAMESE IN THERE, WE ALWAYS HAD SIAMESE AND THEY WERE HIGHLY INTELLIGENT.

Stera says red pointed Siamese, Linda. Years ago we had a beautiful rescue Siamese, and as soon as we brought her home, it was as if she'd known us all of her life, beautiful pusscat, Suki....

TWO OF OUR FOUR SIAMESE CATS THAT WE 'VE HAD IN THE PAST WERE RESCUES, EACH ONE HAD 3 PREVIOUS OWNERS. THE CATS HAD PROBLEMS BUT WE WORKED THROUGH THEM AND THEY TURNED OUT TO BE WONDERFUL COMPANIONS. I EVEN TAUGHT THEM TRICKS, LIKE GET A BISCUIT FROM UNDER A PLASTIC TUMBLER, JUMP BOTH WAYS OVER MY LEGS WALK TO HEEL, TURN AROUND, AND FETCH. THEY WERE JUST LIKE DOGS. I AM SO PLEASED FOR YOU AND SUKI SOUNDS FANTASTIC. GIVE HER A BIG HUG FROM ME.

Yes, I found Suki more like a dog, and always talking. That's great you could teach them tricks Linda.

Hope Freddy's settled in well Stera, he looks like he's at home..:o)

FREDDY LOOKS VERY COMFORTABLE AND RELAXED AND HE'S A VERY HANDSOME SIAMESE. LOTS OF LOVE TO SHARE THERE...I ALWAYS FOUND MY SIAMESE VERY AFFECTIONATE AND THEY FOLLOWED ME EVERYWHERE.

Oh yes, he does follow - well not so much follow as lead, winding round my feet. Only a matter of time before I trip over him!

Janey - yes he certainly has!

Linda, I've been wondering whether to try teaching him a trick or two- must have a think how to go about it. He can already extract a sachet of cat food from the box and open it with claws and teeth. We have had to hide the box in the pare bedroom...And I certainly didn't teach him that one!

Anget Kate and 3d: Yes - we feel very lucky - even though we had already decided to have No More Cats. Life doesn't always work out how it was meant to! But the poor lad was painfully thin and very nervous, so how could we resist?

11 Jul, 2020

Aww, you couldn't resist..and now he has a wonderful home with lots of food sachets to undo. He just needs to learn how to turn the handle to the spare room....and I wouldn't put it past a Siamese Stera...:))

My little Burmese has found the sachets, too and started to bite them. They're such clever creatures these Oriental cats.
He doesn't look at all nervous in your photo, Stera. You obviously make him feel very safe, Stera. Fate has obviously thrown you together!!

Update - he has brought his friend! They now come in through the cat flap together. The friend is quite untaught and jumps up on the worktops to see what he can pinch(so does Freddy actually...). It is hard to keep him out. He has a silly little squeaky meow and lovely tortoishell markings like a loepard. But he has a home down the road and I wish he would go back there...

Oh gosh Stera, now you have two! What cheeky chappies they sound..:)) Good pals tho.

19 Aug, 2020

It's nice he has a friend!! He obviously tells his friends you have a kind heart!

19 Aug, 2020

Well its nice for him - but its a bit much for us nowadays as the new one is one of those cats that's always there meowing for something or other or trying to help herself.
We once had a moral and obedient cat - you could leave a chicken out on the worktop and be sure it would still be there when you came back. Not like the cat next door in those days who came in through the flap and ate it while it was defrosting. His owner just laughed and we had a scratch tea... he was a beautiful grey cat called Graham!
