This ones a very pretty climber with a heavenly fruity apricot scent. It's a pity the flowers are all hanging their heads now with the rain..

Lori, I can imagine it as a hedgeing rose. The stems would weave in and out of each other. Yes, it is tree like, though I've tried to grow it against a trellis, it prefers to send its branches to the front, or through to the back, not against it. Yes, some lovely names, many David Austen roses have historical or Shakespearean names. I think it's Bornagain who has one called Falstaff...
It is a rainbow of peaches and yellows with a raspberry touch to it too Sheila, but the fragrance has the strongest fruity Tones I've ever smelt!.. :))

Well I've given up on myself!!!
Wrong name! I suddenly thought, now is it Lady Emma Hamilton, and yes it is...senior moment.
Still historical Lori and very similar to Lady of Shalott...

Very beautiful - whatever the correct name! :)

It is a lovely one Balc, we just need more sunshine to enjoy our plants.. It's more like end of October here..:((

Don’t lose heart Janey ... warm sunshine forecast for this weekend, and it will be most welcome 🙂.

It will Sheila, a summer season again..
It is strange the climate change, because the temperatures are cold when it's cloudy. Years ago, a rainy spell in summer often meant warm rain. July was the month for thunderstorms, I remember as the storms finished, the paths would be steaming in the sun, I couldn't wait to go and collect snails....of all things!

Sorry I don't have Falstaff, but I do have two Lady Hamiltons:-)

That is gorgeous Janey and the scent is a bonus , we had the most beautiful rainbow earlier I wish I could have caught it on camera ,to late again .. there should be some sunshine this weekend to cheer us up x

Now I wonder who had Falstaff? As Ian would say....there's not many times your right love, but you're wrong again! and laugh, and he was so right...:((
Did you Amy, we keep having a deluge, I've put my pots back under cover. Oh let's hope we can just have some non stop sunshine and dry things out a bit, and you and Tony can sit in the sun..xx

It was Dotty Daisy with Falstaff, sorry Ba, another dark beauty...

Thank you Aleyna, I do really like this one..
Thinking of you and your pile of logs, it's not so warm here and it's our mid summer...:((

We had a cold last summer as well, tempreatures dropped to 4ºC. Weird climate.

That is cold, yes we have to get used to climate change don't we. Don't like it though..:((

After a pretty cool week the temps have risen quite a bit this afternoon where I live. We had to wear jerseys for a few days this week & my wife even put the heating on for a few hours a couple of times this week - in July! :(
12 Jul, 2020
Me too Balc, in fact most evenings...when the sun is out, it is very hot and then behind a cloud and such cold air. July can be the month of thunderstorms, but always warm air, sun or rain. Let's hope it levels out soon Balc...

it's the exact opposite here in Eastern Canada... it's been sweltering since the end of June... and recent days have seen thunderstorms and a slight cooling, but this afternoon we're back in the 30's. Last two summers we had very few days in 30's...so far we're setting records. I'll gladly send some of our heat your way!
12 Jul, 2020
Has it Lori?? you can send as much as you would like, I love the heat. Just some nice summer days would go down well though..
14 Jul, 2020
Yes, please, Lori, do send some heat over here! We have resisted putting the heating on again this week - so far!
15 Jul, 2020
You've done better than me Balc, I haven't resisted!
15 Jul, 2020
It's turned a LOT warmer today (26C) & will still continue on Saturday but I'm afraid it's back to the autumnal weather for the upcoming working week!
17 Jul, 2020
I wonder if there's a Lord Nelson?
18 Jul, 2020
It's been two seasons in one day here Balc, and I'm ashamed to say, I've had to put the heating on for an hour!..:((
Yes, she must be lonely don't you think..:))
20 Jul, 2020
Horatio Nelson is a beautiful pink shrub rose Lori...so there we have it, they would make a beautiful pair..:))

I've given up on roses but I think I would try again. This rose is so lovely and such a lovely name, too. I did some looking online... you can as get it as a tree or in a hedge bundle. from Tennyson to Shakespeare and Christopher Marlowe!... some truly beautiful roses. must have been some fun naming them all~ lol...
