Julia is spot on! You’ve a very pretty garden, Janey. You’ve definitely an abundance of colour filling this area, and of what o can see - thick green grass too!

I can't believe how quickly the grass is still growing Kate and considering its Lotties runway for ball games and frisbee throwing, it's not in bad nick!

Your garden is looking lovely Janey ... I emptied out some pots of Zinnia today and was amazed at how much root they had made!

We certainly do its a shame we dont get longer summers qe will have to push the whole UK near the equator how it use to be where the top tip of Scotland was touching under the equator line like Kenya

Thanks Shirley..:)) yes they soon get wound round don't they! I had my golden birch pruned by half this morning and he made a smashing job of it. Then the man from the pub next door came to clean out the guttering...oh it's all too much...haha, I'll have to get out more!
Then we wouldn't have our seasons Dawn, I think there's two I wouldn't miss though..:) I would settle for the climate we had when I was a child. All the seasons were as they should be...

Ha ha Janey, that's answered a question in the PM I just sent you!

Yes same here Janey seasons are not like they use to be .

I think we’re lucky to have the seasons (though I wish winter wasn’t so long!). In Sydney, Australia, I met an Englishman running a bookshop and asked him if he missed anything about England ... “The changing seasons” he said.

Me too Sheila, now I'm older.. Yes, Jim misses the seasons and the English garden birds. He did enjoy Tasmania as it was more like home. x

Thanks Janey ... I guess New Zealand is a little like Tazzy? I think I could have lived there if I'd found it 40 years ago! x

I haven't been to New Zealand, but I would think it will be very similar..I found Hobart sort of caught in time, maybe of 50 years ago.
Just spotted a Hummingbird Hawk Moth on my geraniums..wow!
I loved the wildness of the hinterland and coastal area we visited, and the National Park, but there didn't seem to be a vibrancy about it, probably the backdrop of Mount Wellington looming over the city too and memorials and historical references to its not good history of convicts brought and young poor women with children brought over for small misdemeanours. Of course that is its history, but in today's world, maybe not something to be proud of...
