Moss and lichen

growing happily on old, white hardy hibiscus that we've inherited.
All I know is that mosses are plants, lichens are not. They both absorb carbon dioxide and other pollutants from the air.

lichens are a chimera really as they have fungal and algae components co existing to the benefit of both. they are amazing organisms and such beautiful forms.

They are a sign of clean air usually so you are lucky! I had no idea they are classed as a fungus until looked them up just, so thank you!
