Angels Trumpets

Angels Trumpets

All my Angels Trumpets are blooming now. They love the cooler weather in winter. This plant is not as full of flowers like usual, I cut it way back a few weeks ago. Photo taken Dec. 15, 2020.

We used to grow Angels Trumpets, they are highly scented in the evening and they used to attract the moths. We had enough space to do it then with a huge greenhouse, where we placed them in the winter months. You have to be careful of the sap as it is an irritant to the skin. I grew the yellow and cream ones. Lovely to see your plants doing so well.

The whole pic just makes me yearn for summer! Lovely warm colouring on the trumpets!

Lindak,

I’ve been growing Angel’s trumpets for 35 years. They love California’s coastal climate! They do especially well in winter and early spring here in San Diego.

When my dozen or so big trees are blooming the fragrance reaches the street, at night.
