Gerry took the stone from the Avocado and scraped the skin off and planted it so that it protruded half way out of the compost but you have to get it the right way up. They took 3 months to germinate. The stone starts to split and that's where the shoot comes out. Keep them moist but not wet as they can rot off. They like being in the light.
