Painting under way

A relaxing time, much talent out there, or on here!

Beautiful! I've always had a fish tank growing up - with lots of those red ones you have on the lower left. She looks like she might be full of babies. It was always exciting to see them bare live young.

Thanks Paul, Kate, and Paul. This one is for my son as he keeps fish. The bottom three are Mollies, the big stripy ones are Angel fish, The group at the top are Guppies and the ones with red on are Neon Tetras. I've got to the stage of painting the pondweeds today and finishing off the details. We used to keep tropical fish, such lovely colours. We also had goldfish too.

I grew up with fish too and loved them, as a 16yr old I worked in an aquarist shop and found it very enjoyable.

How lovely Seaburngirl. I used to love going to the pet shop and seeing the fish when young.

We also had turtles, frogs & snakes, oh yes and lizards too! I loved that bearded dragon. My brothers and I would go to the fish pond at the park and come home with buckets of who knows what. Mom made us take them back, but we had fun catching them.

My mother really disliked what I bought into the flat where we lived. I used to keep white mice, newts, snails, caterpillars, a canary, goldfish, and even some ladybirds that escaped on to the bedroom window and my mother went bananas. I was really into wildlife from a very young age and loved spiders and snakes. I haven't changed although now I leave them on the outside where they belong. I have always tried to help any injured creatures.

They are all fascinating in their own peculiar way. I'm still amazed by the process of metamorphosis. Once I brought a jar full of fire flies into the house and somehow they all escaped. Of course mom found them...at night when her room started flashing like he Las Vegas strip.
