They are yummy Anget, had some for lunch. Gave a couple to an elderly neighbour.

That’s a lovely gesture Linda. Our younger son used to bake cakes for colleagues once a week (for Lifeboats) and always saved one for his elderly neighbour. She must miss him.

That's really lovely Sheilabub. There are some good people around who are kindly to others.

Thanks Linda ... he really was a lovely lad. When someone asked him once what his “type” (of girl) was, he said ‘someone who puts others’ needs before their own’. I was very proud of him as you can imagine 🙂.

yummy indeed.

Here's what I used for making the scones.....
Just 1 lb 2 ozs SR flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
5 ozs butter
6 ozs grated cheddar cheese
2 small level teaspoons mixed dried herbs.
2 beaten eggs
about 150 ml milk (quarter of a pint)

you can use another 2 ozs grated cheese to put on the top of the scones, but I always think it comes out too hard after cooking.

Put dried ingredients in a mixer with the diced butter for 10 - 20 seconds
Add eggs for about 6 seconds
Add milk gradually until it forms a dough.
put on floured surface
pat down with floured hands... and very lightly roll out to about half inch thick. Use 2 inch cutter and cut out scones.
Bake for approx. 10 to 15 mins at 210 c fan oven or
220 c ordinary oven.

Hope they turn out o.k. for you. The butter and cheese probably already have salt in.
