Interesting that they are all facing the same way, as cattle and eg rooks do. Wonder if its so the wind doesn't blow their feathers the wrong way?

Don't know Yorklass. Thanks Kate, the swans seem to see everything off at the moment and there are some geese that don't get on together too.

that is usually why they face into the wind also to smell for predators up wind.
