Dahlia from seed

Beautiful colouring on this, Wylie. Such soft, warm tones.
Hoping you have many more, even if your early with your seeds! ( me, a novice wouldn’t have a clue )

I am surprised how many buds are on all the plants, and they are not that tall.

Lovely Dahlia flower, Wylie! As you live in a warmer part of the world than we do that would explain why they are flowering so soon! here in the UK they wouldn't survive outside for at least another month - maybe more!

I have several pots with the tubers from the Dahlias I grew from seed about 3 years ago. But I don't expect to see any growth on them till June probably!

My dahlias from previous years haven't begun to come up yet, which is why I think I started them too early. Next year, these will be on the same cycle as the others.

with our hard frosts I am hoping my dahlias will stay dormant a lot longer.

I can feel spring is just beginning. I haven't had to have a fire to warm the house in the evening for a couple of weeks, and it is just slightly warmer during the day. Plus, the loquats are ripening.
