Feeding our wild friend.

our local Canada geese are far from gentle so we wouldn't be doing that. Brave lady.

That's a lovely photo Linda. He is really friendly. I'm very fond of geese, we used to keep them years ago, I can see them now flying up the garden to see us..:)

That's amazing Linda to have them eat from your hand. You must have a special way with them.

Thanks Klahana SBG, Janey, Kate, and Paul. We feed them wheat grains, with a few other seeds in it as well. He's a very noisy but gentle character. They look enormous when they are flying towards us. Years ago when we lived down the road there was a Canada Goose in the small park across the road from us. A flock came down and flew off when I went across, all but one bird. He was damaged in some way, so I went over to him, picked him up tucked him under my arm, holding gently with one hand under his long neck and took him down the road to the lower part of the river and placed him on to the water. I went and fed him for a few weeks, then he recovered and went and joined the flock.
