My tallest acer leafing up nicely...

Took this pic a little while ago, the evening has been mild and we’ve enjoyed sunny, blue skies.
Still no ‘heavy showers’...we did have a very light tickling of rain this afternoon...so, as everything still bone dry, OH got the sprinkler out..
Can’t wait on the rain!!!!

We've had quite a bit of rain over the last few days, can't believe it! It certainly helped with the ease of weeding today. Your acer is a good size. I can't wait for my baby ones to make a reasonable size. They are trying hard to do so!

at least we have had some gentle rain. Too heavy and it would just run off. But we do need much more and so do the fields.

The rain is definitely welcome...we’ve had another tickling of a shower this lunchtime...think more to come by the look of the sky currently.
Thanks Ange, I’m sure your acers will be a good size before you know it...

Lovely photo . . . we had some hail stones mixed in with a heavy rain shower yesterday . . . just as I was planting some Sweet Peas! There really are never two days the same for weather . . . :o(

An interesting sky, lovely shrubs.

Thank you, Shirley and Sue!
I do hope your sweet peas have survived the weather, Shirley 🤞

Well, the obelisks they are planted by are still in place! I haven't ventured out to the garden yet.

Rain for half the day so far. Acers are lovely to have in the garden Kate. I am getting the garden sorted ready to receive plants.

none stop rain since 6.30 this morning but it varies in intensity: so far no major problems.

Fingers crossed, Shirley...hope they survived for you! They have such a gorgeous fragrance when in flower.

Thank you, Linda. It’s a tree we seem to manage very successfully - thank heavens! We’ve several in the front and back. Hoping you’ve managed to get the garden sorted this weekend for your new plants!

Same here Eileen...water buts are full! 😁

Kate, the Sweet Peas have loved the rain of late and are all looking healthy, phew!

Oh that’s great to hear, Shirley!!!! I’m so pleased AND relieved for you! It was a worry there...

Indeed! Yesterday I put many pots of self-sown Dahlias outdoors from the greenhouse to toughen up, day by day, and was annoyed to find a snail happily living in one of the pots. It had started to munch through the leaves . . . grr!

Yes, a definite grrrrr....
I managed to toss several snails over the bund hill yesterday..trying to 'keep them away' from the hostas in particular!!!

Have you ever seen the trials done on Snails returning miles to their home? They were numbered by painting their shells with nail polish, bagged up and driven a few miles away to the woods and eventually almost all of them returned to where they were found . . . amazing!

Sorry Shirley, just seen this message! How bizarre is that? I’m not sure whether to be amazed or dismayed! 😆

Ha ha Kate . . . if I find any Snails in the front garden, often amongst the foliage of the Red Hot Pokers, they are sent to play with the cars across the road! I feel no guilt at all . . . :o)
