Cercis siliquastrum Judas Tree

I love these, they take me right back to our Spanish days, Amy. The villages would often have them planted down the main streets, and pruned and trained so the branches connected with each other, just beautiful to walk under in early spring..

It is a spectacular tree.

I used to have Avondale. I love these trees.

SBG I have a Forest Pansy which is just coming into flower you can hardly tell the difference between those flowers and these ,they are the same family ..

These are lovely flowers, Amy! Like Janey I first saw them in Spain, though without any training. I remember one tree in particular that was many years old growing alongside the inside curve of a very tight hairpin curve. It often flowered at Easter & was a truly magnificent tree!

When I was last in Cuenca I noticed that it had been cut back quite a bit by the city gardeners. As that was over 4 years ago I don't know how it is getting on now.

There is also a big tree at the bottom of our street & I take photos of it every year - this year being no exception!
